Chop’t opened in January 2001 with hopes of bringing something creative, fresh and healthy to the lunchtime scene in New York City, and eventually the rest of the country. The owners wanted to offer the very biggest and best salads and salad sandwiches, with the largest variety of ingredients and the best bang for the buck in the city. They envisioned a place where the customers would have a hand in crafting their meals and could come every day of the year without eating the same meal twice.

Every morning before opening, the kitchen bustles with activity. The owners/chefs prepare dressings and vinaigrettes from original recipes, tested on friends and families for two years until they were perfect. Daily shipments of fresh produce arrive, and then they prepare and grill the meats, roast the turkeys and make their soups from scratch.
Because Chop’t maintains the highest levels of food quality, service and cleanliness, customers can expect to leave there with a smile and a desire to return. The food is fine. It's a salad. If you get delivery, expect at least an hour. This place is very slow. Every time.

I think people are too hard on this place. Chop't is amazing in theory, and many times in practice. But they are simply too popular for their own good. You have to be a little adaptable when you're dealing with a place that has lines out the door every single day. I always pick up, because it's less of a wait. And I steer clear of ingredients that are or could be fussy, like the sad grilled asparagus and the fried chicken. There is no reason for them to try to do these things correctly, given the mad crush of people they have to feed, though the greatest evidence for this point is the fact that they rarely do these things correctly. My advice is to find a few things that work for you. There are too many ingredients for this to not be possible. Try to avoid the 12-1:30 time slot if you're dining in. Pick up or have it delivered. Stop whining.

Took over a hour and a half to deliver. Never ordering agin, not worth it, absolutely horrendous, being stuck at my desk waiting for a phone call while starving is not a fun way to spend sat afternoon in the office.

wish I could give them better review, salad is delish BUT the chances of getting it during lunch hour with what you ordered is dismal...don't bother going there in person - line is out the door and down the block! I am sitting on hold as I type this - waiting to find out where our 2 salads are -for the 3rd time in a week...and I ordered at 10:45...its 12:30 and they are a block away (delivery est was 45-60min). SHAME ON YOU!

Totally incompetent. Consistently screw up orders and forget dressing. Furthermore they promise to fix orders and then don't show up for hours. In a city where there are hundreds of specialty salad stores you would be better served going to a store that can actually produce a salad you order. It's a salad, it just not that complicated.

DO NOT ORDER ON SEAMLESS. They take 2 hours to deliver a wrap. I had to cancel the order once and walk to some place else because of the delay. The food is good, but the place is terrible with its delivery.

It took over an hour and a half to deliver a wrap. Once I finally received the wrap it wasn't even cut in half. Although this wouldn't have annoyed me in a normal situation, it does seeing how the needed an hour and half to prefect a chicken caesar wrap.

Took 2 hours to receive a cobb salad ordered on Seamless Web. Even at busy lunch time it should not take so long. Order was placed at 11:24 AM and as of now (1:24 PM) it has still not been received.

Very long wait. Called twice (50 minutes apart) to say they were out of items. When order arrived, salads were wrong. May be OK to get salads from there in person, but not on Seamless.

Not the best salad that I have had from Chop't. I never received my confirmation via email, so I called the restaurant 15 minutes after I submitted the order...they told me it was ready! Being that I work right across the street, I jumped up from my desk to go pick up my lunch. Upon arriving, I was told to wait while they made my salad...Fine, no big deal...still, I had to wait. The salad was OK - as I said, not the best I have had from Chop't. I think it would be safe to say that you MUST request your salad to be finely chopped otherwise the pieces are on the rather chunky side...which to me, sort of defeats the purpose of ordering from a place called "CHOP'T!"

Extremely poor service, after a 90 minute wait I called to check on the order only to find out they "lost" it but would have the order to me in 15 minutes, after another hour of waiting I finally had to cancel the order. Will not order from them again.

Wish there was a "no stars" category, because that is exactly what this place deserves. They are the worst. Not only does it take over 1 1/2 to have a salad delivered 1/2 a block away from there location, the food is substandard.

It would be terrible if I had any food allergies because my salad ALWAYS has other items in it that are not supposed to be there! But the bigger deal is that the most recent time I ordered from Chopt, the delivery person told me I needed to pay cash when I paid on Seamless with my credit card. He was all frustrated when I told him I would have to go back upstairs and get cash for him. I had the receipt online to prove that I had paid with my card. Thank goodness that the people at Seamless are wonderful and helped to immediately solve this issue! But I will never order from Chopt ever again! If I need to have a salad, I will go and stand in line so I can watch and make sure that my salad only has the items it is supposed to have.

Awful service. I ordered at noon, they called at 12:20 to say they ran out of Feta (really??) and then called at 1:00pm, saying they ran out of chicken noodle soup!! The food finally came at 1:25pm. Never ordering from there again!

Always like the food and would rate it much higher but the delivery time is always ridiculous!! They estimated 60 - 75 minutes this time and it arrived 120 minutes later and was wrong. After having the one salad taken back and redelivered it was almost 3 hours!

Two delivery people at this location equated to me waiting an hour and a half for my food at work on a Monday evening..and I'm located fairly close at Rock center...and I ordered at 6pm. Sorely disappointed since I do enjoy their salads occasionally at lunch.

I waited 1 hour and 20 minutes for my food before I finally called to inquire the status of my order. The person who picked up said that there was no order and then asked me to hold. The Asst. Mgr. then came on the phone and apologized, saying that the order had been misplaced and that he would send it right away and refund my card for the amount. I was fine with that, but I ordered a salad, soup, and soda, and only the salad was delivered. I am still waiting for the soup and soda to be delivered. I may not order from them again...

I'm a big fan of Chopt salads and order it at least once a week...but really disappointed with my salad today. It did not come choppoed and had big chunks of everything....had very very little dressing and looked like any other ordinary tossed salad.

I ordered an Asian salad and got some strange mix with no crispy noodles... It had eggs and mushrooms and FETA CHEESE, and even a little bit of beets. And the chicken just tasted REALLY bizarre, and was strangely chopped. Will think twice before ordering from there again.

The salad I received from here was probably the worst I've ever eaten in my life. The salad chefs here have no clue what good flavor combinations are. Never ordering from this place ever again. It's over priced takes forever to deliver and tastes horrible.

I used to go to Chop't daily, but I hate cucumber and somehow when I get delivery there's always a piece or two of cucumber (or maybe a touch of the cucumber dressing?). They almost always screw up something. If you choose pick up, you will wait for your food longer than it would take to wait in the long line out the door and have it made in front of you. But, I LOVE their sweet and smoky chipotle vinaigrette.

My order #141350961 on 2/5/2010. Actually, there is no Chicken, no bacon, and anything described in Sandwich. but only comes with my additional selection like broccoli and Avocado. Unfortunately the last time I ordered from here it took 2 hours to come, even though I was told I would only wait 45-60 minutes. I called and complained but was not given a satisfactory explanation ("We are very busy"), nor was there any acknowledgement of the degree of waiting time being unacceptable. I will not order from here again because of the delivery time issues.

This order today was terrible. It took them over an hour and half to get the order here. I had to call and basically they had forgotten the order. When the order arrived it was incorrect, and the salad dressing container had opened up and was all over the bag!! Very crappy service today and I order this exact salad almost everyday.

The salads take an exceptionally long time to be delivered. It took my salad nearly 1.5hrs to arrive. I have never ordered from anywhere as slow at this particular Chopt location.

Chopt is excellent; I particularly like the salad wrap sandwiches. The ingredients are fresh and fresh and they do a great job. I also highly recommend their fresh ice tea.

the service is terrible - i waited an hour for the salad and then the delivery person called 10 minutes before he arrived so it was a good 1 and 15 minutes from ordering before I had my food

For the second order in a row didn't get what I ordered. The first order I got a sandwich, not a salad. Second order I got a salad that bore no resemblance to the salad I ordered. Food is great if you go to the restaurant, just don't do delivery from them as they seem incapable of reliably sending what you order.

I love Chop't salads, but I don't recommend the delivery service. They ignore special instructions and they did not chop my salad at all! When I called to speak to the manager about my order, I was told that the salads are "pre-chopped." I don't know what that means but nothing in my salad is chopped. You're better off waiting on line than ordering delivery.
